Welcome to Part-2 in our five part series on Multi Level Marketing Software Secrets for saving you tons of time, energy and money. My purpose with this series is to review some of the best (and the worst) software out there so that you can dramatically increase your sales while just as dramatically reducing the time and energy you put into your business.
One of the biggest dilemmas faced by all network marketers is time. How can I possibly get everything done in my business and still have a life? Considering the majority of network marketers get started while they still have outside jobs, this question of how to save your time and energy is even more vital.
In Part-1 of this series, I explained the fundamental importance of having an Automated Online Marketing System (AOMS) and why that kind of software is the single most powerful contribution to running your network marketing business.
Today we’re going to cover an entirely different category of software – the kind that’s designed to save you time by automating certain key functions of your business. So in our list of the 7 functions that software can perform, this type of network marketing software fulfills numbers 3 and 4:
3.Automates the submission of your marketing materials to online distribution hubs
4.Integrates your various online marketing channels
If we look at number 3, what we see is this: as a marketer you’re busy creating marketing pieces or content designed to bring in free targeted traffic to one of your websites. This content could be in the form of an article, a video, a blog post, content posted to a social media site such as Twitter or Facebook or perhaps something as simple as an online classified ad on Craigs List or a similar site. So the normal sequence would be:
1.You create the content
2.You post it “manually” to each site you want it to appear on.
In the case of a video, for example, where you might want it to appear on half a dozen of the top video sharing sites, this manual submission process could take you well over an hour. Now multiply that by five days a week and then consider you’re doing the same thing with, perhaps, articles and social media messages, and you’ve got yourself a serious time problem. That’s where this type of software comes in, changing the sequence above to:
1.You create the content
2.You open the software and insert your content
3.The software posts it automatically to all the sites you want
The theory here is that this automation will save you time and multiply your exposure, thereby getting you more targeted site visitors.
Here’s a list of some of the better known online software packages out there. This list is by no means comprehensive and new software applications are coming out at an astounding rate. That said, these ones are likely to stay around:
Traffic Geyser: submits your videos to over two dozen video sharing sites
Tube Blaster Pro: automates process of getting you more Youtube exposure
Article Submit Auto: submits your articles to all top article sharing sites
Ping.fm: Updates all your social media sites at once
Twitterfeed: Updates your social media sites when you make a blog post
Disqus: Gets viral traffic for your blog
Tweetlater: Twitter software that allows you to set up automated replies to people who follow you, set up your tweets for days or weeks in advance, and more
Tweetdeck: Broadly similar to Tweetlater, including its ability to link your Twitter and Facebook pages
Twellow: The Twitter “yellow pages” – helps you locate people and groups important to you (and your marketing)
Twitpic: Shares your photos on Twitter
Digg: Helps you locate interesting content to send on Twitter
Stuff to Tweet: Similar to Digg
All Top: An “online magazine rack” that ranks top blogs by subject, shows most recent posts and gives you a prcis of them
Most of these software applications reside entirely online, although you may have to download the application in a few cases. For the most part they’re free, you can expect a monthly fee for top automated submission sites like Traffic Geyser.
When you’re looking for applications to save you time, energy and, ultimately, money, there are some key considerations to keep in mind, particularly if you’re going to be paying for the service:
1.Does the software work as well as advertised?
2.Does it do what YOU need it to do?
3.Does it really save you time? If so, how much?
4.If it’s a submission software, does it submit to the most important sites on the internet?
5.If you use it to submit your content, will any of the major sites penalize you for using it?
6.Is it free? If not, is there a free software that’s just as robust?
Number 4 is very important. A few months ago I invested in a trial for a paid software that claimed it would submit my free classified ads (for my network marketing business) to dozens of sites with the push of a button. Imagine my surprise when I realized that not only did it NOT submit to any of the really important sites like craigslist.com, kijiji.com or backpage.com, but that one of the sites it submitted to was a porn site! So be careful what you pay for.
Point number 5, about getting “slapped” by a major sharing site such as Youtube or Twitter for using a third party submission site to send your content to them, is a very real concern. However excellent these third party applications can be, once they’re abused by enough amateurish or unscrupulous marketers, the sharing site will get wise and penalize you for using them. Even as professional a site as Traffic Geyser recently ran into a problem like this with Youtube.
Fortunately, there are times when the sharing site and some of the third party sites that submit to it will have a good relationship. Twitter, for example, knows how important third party software applications are to its users and has said explicitly that Tweet Later – to take one such provider – does not at all violate its terms of use.
So the bottom line with multi level marketing software (or online software that can be used for any kind of marketing) is that there really are applications out there that can save you a tremendous amount of time, energy and even money while getting you far greater exposure for less effort. However, you do have to be very discriminating about the tools you use.
Next time, in Part-3 of our Multi Level Marketing Software Secrets series, we’ll talk about some applications designed to protect one of your business’ greatest assets – your computer!
Happy marketing!
