DON’T JUST FOLLOW ANY BODY

Follow Your Leaders, Leaders, Leaders

He said to go to the most influential people in your industry and follow the first 1-100 people whom they follow, plus whom ever they follow you can also follow them… if that makes sense to you.

The beautiful thing about Twitter is that it open to the public and right now I can go to Richard Branson’s (CEO of Virgin) Twitter page and look at the first 25 people he decided to follow, and follow them. Not really to get a follow back but to learn something and surround myself with people with like minds.

Why Auto Following Can just waste your time

If you really want to brand yourself in Twitter as someone real then DO NOT use software to Auto follow people. Unless of course they follow you first. Then it would be fine to set up an auto follow. But you could be wasting your time if set up Twitter software to autofollow people who express interest in you industry. Why?

Because….

1. There’s a better way to get “buyers” in your industry, just simply go to a leader in your industry and Follow His/Her Followers. These are people who not only express interest in your industry but most likely buy stuff in your industry.

2. Twollo for example allows you to follow people who simple just mention a word in your industry, That means if Twitter user: DOGTRAINER101 tweets any that about DOG TRAINING twollo adds DOGTRAINER101 to my “following” list even without me looking to see if He’s a Spammer

3. Quality Over Quantity, You have a 5000 follower but When you use an auto follow service You get Ton’s of People that really aren’t concerned about your tweets. There too busy filling up you tweet status about Donald Trumps now Networking business :-/

I used twollo to build my follower list fast and were able to get about 10 click thru average every time I posted something, but as my followers went up by hundreds a day my click thru’s stayed the same. hmm in short what I learned was Quality over quantity is the best way to build my Twitter followers influence.
